Yggdrasil Gaming has expanded its presence in South Africa through new partnerships with online betting and casino operators Lucky Fish and Bet Set Win. The agreements give customers of both platforms access to Yggdrasil’s latest casino releases, established titles and games supplied through studios participating in the YGG Masters programme.
The partnerships were announced as the supplier continues to pursue growth in regulated iGaming markets. Integration for both operators was facilitated by Intelligent Gaming, a South African platform and content aggregation partner that has supported Yggdrasil’s expansion among local operators.
New South African Partnerships
Under the agreements, Lucky Fish and Bet Set Win customers can access a selection of Yggdrasil’s online casino portfolio alongside content from third-party studios in the YGG Masters network. The arrangement is intended to broaden the range of slots and other casino games available through both operators.
Yggdrasil said its latest South African partnerships have increased its reach to more than 30 operators in the market. The supplier has identified South Africa as an important regulated jurisdiction as it seeks to expand its commercial footprint across Africa.
Lucky Fish entered the South African market in 2025 as an online betting and casino platform. The operator offers more than 2,000 games and is licensed and regulated by the Mpumalanga Economic Regulator, according to Yggdrasil.
Bet Set Win provides online sports betting, live casino products and online slots. Its operations are licensed and regulated by the Eastern Cape Gambling Board.
The involvement of locally licensed operators is significant for suppliers seeking to build a presence in South Africa, where market access depends on compliance with applicable gambling rules and partnerships with authorised businesses.
Content Available to Players
The integrations provide access to Yggdrasil’s new releases as well as established games that have performed strongly in South Africa and other regulated markets. The offering also includes selected titles from studios taking part in the YGG Masters programme.
Yggdrasil’s three most popular games in South Africa during the first quarter of 2026 were Gator Gold Deluxe GigaBlox, Gold Storm Ultra and 777 Volt. The company said the performance of these games reflects demand for titles featuring high-volatility mechanics, bonus features and familiar gameplay formats.
The supplier has also promoted its broader portfolio, including games from its “Vikings Go” franchise and other proprietary releases. Through its integration with Intelligent Gaming, operators can receive content through a single technical connection rather than establishing separate integrations for each individual game studio.
In addition to casino content, Yggdrasil said its partners can access promotional tools designed to support player engagement and retention. The company described these tools as part of a wider offering that extends beyond the delivery of games.
Yggdrasil’s Statement
Giovanni Fodera, Yggdrasil’s regional manager for South Africa, said strengthening the company’s position in the country was a key part of its 2026 growth strategy.
“Strengthening our position in the South African market is a key pillar of Yggdrasil’s growth strategy for 2026,” Fodera said. “We offer operators far more than premium gaming content.”
He added that a single API integration gives partners access to Yggdrasil’s flagship games, content from its studio network and the company’s Boost promotional tools.
According to Fodera, the partnerships with Lucky Fish and Bet Set Win demonstrate the supplier’s approach of combining its games portfolio with technology and engagement products for local operators.
Yggdrasil has also described South Africa as a strategically important market. In an earlier expansion involving SportyBet and Playco.za, Fodera said partnerships with established brands would extend the reach of Yggdrasil’s content and reinforce its regional presence.
Broader South African Expansion
The Lucky Fish and Bet Set Win deals follow earlier South African launches involving SportyBet and Playco.za. Those agreements added more than 100 games to the operators’ libraries, including MexoMax, Bob Marlin Goes Deep, Vikings Go to Olympus and Raptor 2 DoubleMax. The rollout also included games from YGG Masters studios.
Together, the agreements indicate a continuing effort by Yggdrasil to build distribution through multiple local operators rather than relying on a single commercial channel.
Intelligent Gaming has played a central role in this strategy. In 2024, Yggdrasil named Intelligent Gaming as its first franchise partner in Africa. The arrangement gave the South African platform provider access to Yggdrasil’s technology stack, a catalogue of approximately 150 online games and promotional tools.
The franchise model also enabled Intelligent Gaming to distribute Yggdrasil’s proprietary games and YGG Masters content to operator partners in South Africa. Supabets was identified as the first operator to offer the supplier’s games through that arrangement.
Market Context
Yggdrasil’s expansion comes as South Africa remains a major regulated gaming market for international suppliers. The company cited projections that the country’s iGaming sector could reach €3.9 billion by 2030. Gaming Intelligence, meanwhile, reported National Gambling Board figures showing turnover of €75.47 billion during South Africa’s 2024/25 financial year.
These figures cover broader gambling activity and should not be treated as a direct measure of online casino revenue alone. Nevertheless, they help explain why international game suppliers and technology providers continue to pursue partnerships with licensed South African operators.
For Yggdrasil, agreements with Lucky Fish and Bet Set Win provide additional distribution for its own games and third-party content. For the operators, the partnerships offer access to a larger casino catalogue and promotional capabilities through an established integration.
Regulatory Considerations
The deals also highlight the importance of regulated distribution in South Africa’s online gambling market. Lucky Fish is regulated by the Mpumalanga Economic Regulator, while Bet Set Win is regulated by the Eastern Cape Gambling Board, according to the supplier’s announcement.
The presence of local licensing arrangements does not remove the need for operators and suppliers to comply with ongoing regulatory obligations. These can include responsible gambling requirements, customer protection measures, advertising restrictions, age verification and controls designed to prevent unlawful or harmful activity.
From a supplier perspective, distribution through licensed operators and a local aggregation partner can help streamline market entry. However, individual operators remain responsible for meeting the requirements applicable to their licences and jurisdictions.
What Comes Next
Yggdrasil’s latest deals add two more operator relationships to its growing South African network. The company is expected to continue using Intelligent Gaming to support integrations and deliver its games to further local brands.
The agreements with Lucky Fish and Bet Set Win do not represent a change in ownership or licensing arrangements for either operator. Instead, they are commercial content and platform integrations intended to increase the availability of Yggdrasil and YGG Masters games to South African customers.
The partnerships demonstrate how global casino suppliers are using local operators, technical aggregators and franchise structures to expand in regulated markets. For South African players, the immediate result is a wider selection of online casino games across the participating platforms. For Yggdrasil, the deals reinforce its stated objective of increasing reach and establishing a larger presence in one of Africa’s most important regulated gaming markets.
