Bastian Obermayer
Bastian Obermayer is a Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist at Süddeutsche Zeitung in Munich, best known for receiving the Panama Papers from an anonymous whistleblower—one of the largest leaks in journalistic history exposing global money laundering, tax evasion, and the offshore financial system. He later co-led the Paradise Papers investigation and has consistently worked to uncover illicit financial flows involving political elites, corporations, and criminal networks. As a co-founder of Forbidden Stories and a member of the ICIJ, Obermayer is a leading voice in cross-border investigative journalism targeting financial secrecy and corruption.
